In order to strengthen preventive work among students in countering terrorism and religious extremism, by order of the Rector of I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy No. 254 dated December 21, 2016, a Department of Anti-Terrorism and Civil Protection was established based on the existing Civil Defense Headquarters of the Academy, including the staff of the Military Records Office and the First Sector.

The department works to ensure the constant readiness of the Academy's facilities for safe daily operations, including in situations of terrorism threats and other emergencies.

Significant attention is paid to organizing and conducting educational and organizational activities aimed at fostering an active stance among students in combating religious extremism and terrorism, as well as instilling patriotism and loyalty to the homeland, which is one of the important elements of educational work at the Academy.

The main goal of the department is to implement state policy in the field of countering extremism and terrorism.

The primary tasks of the department are:

  1. Reducing manifestations of extremism and negative attitudes towards people of other nationalities and religious confessions;
  2. Instilling in students an internal need for tolerant behavior towards people of different nationalities and religious confessions, based on the values of a multi-ethnic society, cultural self-awareness, and principles of respecting human rights and freedoms;
  3. Promoting tolerance and interethnic culture among youth and preventing aggressive behavior;
  4. Informing the student community about issues related to countering terrorism and extremism;
  5. Assisting law enforcement agencies in identifying violations and crimes of this category, as well as eliminating their consequences;
  6. Promoting tolerant behavior towards people of different nationalities and religious confessions;
  7. Organizing educational work among students aimed at eliminating the causes and conditions that contribute to extremist actions.
