I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy  handed over a modern diagnostic system GeneXpert CepHeid to Sokuluk District Hospital.

The new innovative diagnostic system GeneXpert CepHeid was purchased by the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy under the project “Medecin  Sans Frontieres” of Kyrgyzstan.

For several years, “ Medecin  Sans Frontieres” Kyrgyzstan has been implementing a pilot project on women's health care in Sokuluk district. Under the project, a breast and cervical cancer screening centre was opened in Sokuluk District Hospital in joint cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

Today, the GeneXpert system continuously monitors the reactions of biomaterials and helps determine accurate results for more than 200 different types of tests. This allows doctors to diagnose the presence or absence of certain diseases in patients in real time.

The performance of the GeneXpert test is based on operational pilot testing and the body of work published by experts and researchers from around the world who have implemented it.

The analysis produces results in less than 2 hours.

It is the only highly advanced technology in the range of next-generation automated molecular diagnostic platforms.

GeneXpert makes it significantly easier for laboratory technicians to make quick diagnoses and for doctors to make a diagnosis.

Most importantly, many patients now avoid the stress, inconvenience and expense of traveling to central laboratories, which was previously the case.
