Education 27 April 2026

On April 23-24, 2026, the Department of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy at Academic Clinic No. 7 "RDMC" hosted a landmark scientific and practical workshop titled: "Modern Standards for Endoscopic Screening of Gastrointestinal Neoplasms."The event featured leading specialists from the Republic of Korea: Professors Hwoon-Yong Jung and Sunpyo Lee, representing the Asan Medical Center (teaching hospital of the University of Ulsan College of Medicine, Seoul).

Over the course of two days, the foreign experts, alongside department physicians and residents from the KSMA, performed a series of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (EGD, colonoscopies, polypectomies, joint consultations on complex clinical cases). The primary focus was placed on the early detection of oncological diseases. The South Korean professors delivered a series of lectures dedicated to global standards for gastric and colorectal cancer screening, with particular emphasis on visualizing minute mucosal changes that may indicate the onset of a tumor process.

A unique training zone was organized specifically for young specialists and residents, featuring:

  1. Simulators: Refinement of basic skills and hand-eye coordination on modern endoscopic simulators.
  2. Biological Model: Practical sessions on pig stomach, allowing participants to practice manipulation techniques in conditions that closely mimic real-life surgery.

"Exchanging experience with colleagues from Asan Medical Center is a massive step forward in the professional development of our staff. Korea is a global leader in endoscopic diagnostics. Implementing their protocols will help our doctors significantly improve cancer detection rates at early stages—when the disease is still fully curable," noted the event participants.

This цщклырщз marks a vital milestone in the development of endoscopic services in the Kyrgyz Republic. The knowledge gained and the technical skills practiced will be integrated into the daily operations of Academic Clinic No. 7, raising the bar for medical care and the prevention of gastrointestinal cancers nationwide.
