Recently, the teachers of the Department of Neurology and Clinical Genetics named after Professor A. Murzaliev of the KSMA named after I.K. Akhunbayev held an informational and educational campaign for the population to combat stroke. Its participants were greeted by the head of the department Elmira Mamytova and the chief neurologist of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Jamal Turgunbaev. Assistants of the department Batma Erezhepova and Emir Zholdoshev presented reports on stroke, risk factors and prevention. They, together with the doctors of the neurology departments of the 2.3 National Hospital, conducted preventive conversations with the population about the risk and prevention of stroke.
Doctors of the Emergency Medicine Center and ESO-EAST Kyrgyzstan volunteers told and showed how to recognize the first signs of a stroke and provide emergency care. Clinical residents of the Department of Neurology and students of the NSO of Neurology actively helped to measure blood pressure, calculate body mass index and measure blood sugar
During the event, brochures with information on prevention, risk factors and emergency care were distributed. There was also a proper nutrition station, where everyone could get information on proper nutrition and prevention of the risk of stroke.
