On June 18, 2025, a meeting was held at the main building of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev (KGMA) between the academy’s rector, Professor Indira Orozobaeva Kudaybergenova, and a delegation from the Talas region. The delegation included the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Talas region, Ermat Jumayev, the Director of the Talas Regional United Hospital, Nurdin Usupbekov, as well as the heads of district medical institutions.

The primary goal of the meeting was to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between KGMA and the Talas region in the fields of medical education and healthcare. In his speech, Ermat Jumayev highlighted the serious issue of a shortage of medical personnel in the region and proposed specific measures to address it. He stated that the regional administration is ready to provide financial support to KGMA graduates who sign contracts to work in the Talas region. According to him, an additional 40,000 KGS will be allocated monthly to each of 25 doctors from the regional fund for three years. He also noted that housing and necessary support would be provided to all young specialists.

For those who decide to stay in the Talas region on a long-term basis, the possibility of providing apartments through state mortgage companies will be considered. Jumayev emphasized that the region is currently actively constructing housing under State Mortgage Company projects.
