<p data-start="91" data-end="448">On December 11, the 30th anniversary conference of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (RANS) was held in Moscow, bringing together leading scientists and representatives of the academic community from CIS countries. The forum once again confirmed the high authority of the Academy as one of the key centers for the development of science and education.<p data-start="91" data-end="448"><img class="image-link img-full" src="/images/base/12.25/img7_15.12.25.jpeg" alt="" data-mfp-src="/images/full/12.25/img7_15.12.25.jpeg"></p><p data-start="450" data-end="977">As part of the conference, a ceremonial award presentation took place, during which an employee of the I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA) — Ilkham Torobekovich Murkamilov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Faculty Therapy, Chairman of the Board of the Society of Specialists in Chronic Kidney Disease of Kyrgyzstan, and Corresponding Member of RANS — was awarded the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences “For Innovative Work in the Field of Higher Education.”</p><p data-start="450" data-end="977"><img class="image-link img-full" src="/images/base/12.25/img8_15.12.25.jpeg" alt="" data-mfp-src="/images/full/12.25/img8_15.12.25.jpeg"></p><p data-start="979" data-end="1267">On the same day, he delivered a presentation entitled <em data-start="1033" data-end="1099">“Chronic Kidney Disease as a Global Medical and Social Problem,”</em> highlighting the worldwide nature of the disease and emphasizing the importance of involvement of scientific and educational institutions in addressing this challenge.</p><p data-start="1269" data-end="1460" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">The anniversary conference of RANS served as an important platform for international scientific dialogue and for recognizing the achievements of KSMA representatives at a high academic level.</p></p>

<p data-start="140" data-end="432">The Department of Normal Physiology of the I. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, under the leadership of the Head of the Department, достойно represented the Academy at the III International Olympiad of Medical Students “Samarkand – 2020,” held at the Samarkand State Medical University.<p data-start="434" data-end="612">The Olympiad brought together 65 medical universities and about 1,000 students from different countries, highlighting the high level of competition and the prestige of the event.</p><p data-start="614" data-end="714">According to the results of the Olympiad, the team of I. <p data-start="0" data-end="196"><strong data-start="0" data-end="196">With the aim of raising awareness among students and faculty members of KSMA, the Department of Public Health and Healthcare Management organized the game “MUN KSMA 2025” on December 12, 2025.</strong><p data-start="198" data-end="436">The event was dedicated to the <strong data-start="229" data-end="287">International Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC) 2025</strong> and aimed at establishing and maintaining strong links between the United Nations and participants of the “Model United Nations” movement worldwide.</p><p data-start="438" data-end="588">During the game, participants conducted a simulation of a United Nations session and discussed current and pressing issues in the field of healthcare.</p><p data-start="590" data-end="771">At the end of the event, the organizers evaluated the participants’ position papers and the quality of their presentations, and awards were given in the following three nominations:</p><ol data-start="772" data-end="851" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">

<p data-start="129" data-end="571">Students of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy достойно represented their Alma Mater at the V International Olympiad in Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, held in Moscow at Sechenov University. The event brought together teams from leading medical universities from different countries, and the competition was particularly intense due to the multi-stage format, which included clinical cases, practical skills, and scientific and analytical tasks.<p data-start="573" data-end="901">The KSMA team demonstrated a high level of training, professionalism, and confidence, winning the <strong data-start="671" data-end="701">Grand Prix of the Olympiad</strong>, the highest award of the competition. This achievement was the result of serious academic and research work, strong support from faculty members, and the students’ commitment to professional growth.</p><p data-start="573" data-end="901"><img class="image-link img-full" src="/images/base/12.25/img3_09.12.25.jpeg" alt="" data-mfp-src="/images/full/12.25/img3_09.12.25.jpeg"></p><p data-start="903" data-end="1245">The victory of KSMA students not only highlights the high standard of medical education at the Academy but also strengthens the university’s international reputation. <div dir="auto">From August 11 to September 6, 2025 with the German Gastrofoundation’s support KSMA employees – endoscopists of the Department of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy of the RDTC Osmonaliev B.K., Atakulov B.A. and endoscopist Niyazov K.A. – completed an internship in endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) at the Department of Endoscopy of the Kathmandu University Hospital (Dhulikhel, Nepal).

<div dir="auto">The training took place under the guidance of PhD Dr. Ram Gurung. During the internship, the doctors mastered the basics of the ERCP technique, including the preparation and evaluation of patients, indications and contraindications to the procedure, technique of performing selective cannulation of CBD, as well as the removal of stones from the bile ducts.</div>
<div dir="auto">The acquired knowledge and skills will become the basis for the implementation of the ERCP methodology in the RDTC, which will significantly expand the possibilities of diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases of the biliary system in the republic.</div>

<p>On July 18, 2025, an information session dedicated to the first round of the Academic Innovation Fund (AIF) grant competition under the “Quality and Innovation in Higher Education” (QIHE) project, funded by the World Bank, was held in the conference hall of the main building of the I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA).<p>The event was organized by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic (MSHEI KR). Participants were introduced to the grant competition offering funding of up to USD 200,000 to support academic and educational initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education and promoting innovation in the country’s universities.</p><p>The session was attended by KSMA Vice-Rector for International Relations and Strategic Development Gulmira Jumalieva and Vice-Rector for Medical Affairs and Science Niyazbek Mamatov, highlighting the university leadership’s strong commitment to development and international engagement.</p><p><img class="image-link img-full" src="/images/base/07.25/img1_22.07.25.jpeg" alt="" data-mfp-src="/images/full/07.25/img1_22.07.25.jpeg"></p><p>The event also brought together representatives from the following departments:<br> • Neurology (residents),<br> • Oncology,<br> • General Hygiene,<br> • Hygiene-related disciplines of KNU,<br> • KNAU,<br> • Management and Economics of Pharmacy, and Pharmaceutical Technology named after Prof. E.S. <p>On June 18, 2025, a meeting was held at the main building of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev (KGMA) between the academy’s rector, Professor Indira Orozobaeva Kudaybergenova, and a delegation from the Talas region. The delegation included the Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Talas region, Ermat Jumayev, the Director of the Talas Regional United Hospital, Nurdin Usupbekov, as well as the heads of district medical institutions.<p><img class="image-link img-full" src="/images/base/06.25/img4_18.06.25.jpeg" alt="" data-mfp-src="/images/full/06.25/img4_18.06.25.jpeg"></p><p>The primary goal of the meeting was to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between KGMA and the Talas region in the fields of medical education and healthcare. In his speech, Ermat Jumayev highlighted the serious issue of a shortage of medical personnel in the region and proposed specific measures to address it. He stated that the regional administration is ready to provide financial support to KGMA graduates who sign contracts to work in the Talas region. According to him, an additional 40,000 KGS will be allocated monthly to each of 25 doctors from the regional fund for three years. He also noted that housing and necessary support would be provided to all young specialists.</p><p><img class="image-link img-full" src="/images/base/06.25/img2_18.06.25.jpeg" alt="" data-mfp-src="/images/full/06.25/img2_18.06.25.jpeg"></p><p>For those who decide to stay in the Talas region on a long-term basis, the possibility of providing apartments through state mortgage companies will be considered. <p>A new scientific project has been launched at the Department of General and Clinical Epidemiology of the I.K. Akhunbaev Kyrgyz State Medical Academy, to be implemented from 2025 to 2027. The project is carried out within the framework of an agreement with the University of Zurich to enhance research activities. Its title is “Study of Risk Factors for Complications, Disability, or Premature Mortality from Echinococcosis in the Kyrgyz Republic.”<p><img class="image-link img-full" src="/images/base/05.25/img5_28.05.25.jpeg" alt="" data-mfp-src="/images/full/05.25/img5_28.05.25.jpeg"></p><p>The project aims at a deep exploration of the key aspects influencing the course of echinococcosis, with the goal of developing preventive strategies and improving the quality of medical care.</p><p>On May 21, 2025, the first working meeting of the project participants was held. During the meeting, a detailed action plan for the near future was discussed. Participants outlined the main implementation stages, research methods, and expected outcomes. This meeting was an important step in establishing an effective foundation for scientific collaboration and experience exchange between research teams from the Kyrgyz Republic and Switzerland.</p><p><img class="image-link img-full" src="/images/base/05.25/img11_29.05.25.jpeg" alt="" data-mfp-src="/images/full/05.25/img11_29.05.25.jpeg"></p><p>The project promises to make a significant contribution to improving knowledge on the prevention and treatment of echinococcosis, as well as to become a foundation for broader international cooperation in medical science.</p></p>
